Caritas Nigeria was established in September 2010 by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), as a specialized national development agency with a mandate for overall coordination of development programs for the Catholic Church in Nigeria. Although independently registered, Caritas Nigeria is an arm of the Church and Society Department of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN). Caritas Nigeria also provided care, treatment and support to over 39,921 patients in ten service delivery health facilities under the CHARIS program which was supported by the United States of America through the Centre for Disease Control and prevention (CDC).

Job Descriptions
  • Incumbent will assist in providing technical support and supervision in the planning, implementation and review of Strategic Information activities at supported health facilities through routine technical assistance visits.
  • Development and refinement of Strategic Information materials.
  • Support on-going documentation systems that demonstrate progress towards quality strategic information management for improved ART delivery in target PTFs.
  • Collecting, collating and reporting all data tracked by the program.
  • Support all SI Unit data entry and reporting activities for CDC and other CCFN projects.
  • Responsible for logistic support activities in the SI which include prompt supply of PMM and PME forms and registers to PTFs and prevention of stock outs of same and coordination of M&E forum and trainings.
  • Mentor facility staff to ensure that the data entered into hospital database is accurate, consistent and according to prescribed format through routine visits to SUSTAIN PTFs.
  • Participates in planning and implementation of SI activities for the SUSTAIN SI Unit.
  • Assist supported facilities in developing continuous quality improvement projects and implementing the small test of change (STOC) through performance measures of quality of care indicators.
  • Participates in DQA and other data quality and validation activities.
  • Any other duty as may be assigned by the SI Manager, Program Director or the Executive Secretary.
Preferred Skills
  • Degree in Medical records, Statistics or any discipline in the Social Sciences
  • At least 4 years post NYSC working experience in the implementation and management of health Strategic Information systems (HIV/AIDS programming preferred)
  • High- level computer skills using MS Excel, MS Access and Epi-Info Windows
  • Basic data management and analysis skills
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records systems and deployment of database systems for patient monitoring an asset
  • Possess strategic and analytical skills with an ability to solve problems and make decisions.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities and can work effectively under pressure
