Job Description

  • We seek a qualified and experienced Music Teacher to join our team.
  • The successful candidate will teachmusic to students of various ages and skill levels, leading music ensembles, and developing and implementing music curricula.
  • He/She willdevelop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans that cover a wide range of musical genres, styles, and techniques, to foster a lifelong love and understanding of music among students.

Responsibilities

  • Use various instructional methods and resources to develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that cover the fundamental elements of music, such as melody, harmony, rhythm, and musical notation.
  • Teach and guide students in performingvarious musical instruments, vocal techniques, and ensemble skills, tailoring the instruction to their abilities and interests.
  • Assess students' progress and provide regular feedback to help them improve their musical skills, understanding, and appreciation.
  • Maintain detailed records of student performance, attendance, and disciplinary issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in music education and the ever-evolving musical landscape.
  • Contribute to the school community's overall cultural and artistic enrichment, including organizing and directing school performances, concerts, and musical events.

Responsibilities
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience teaching music at the secondary or post-secondary level.
  • Demonstrated success in creating and implementing effective lesson plans and assessments.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of music theory, history, and performance techniques across various genres and styles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students and provide effective instruction.
  • Strong musical skills, including proficiency in one or more instruments and/or vocal performance.
  • Creativity and problem-solving abilities to develop innovative lesson plans and musical activities.
  • Proficiency in the use of relevant music software, recording equipment, and educational technology.
  • Patience and adaptability in catering to the students' diverse musical interests and abilities.
