Job Description

• The Quality Inspector (Coatings) (ICorr / NACE Level 2 and 3) is responsible for monitoring and reporting compliance with quality standards and procedures that regulate the preparation and application of coatings and surface treatments.
• The Quality Inspector will also recommend methods to improve overall quality and assist in analysing quality concerns.

Role includes but is not limited to:

• Executes the specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site.
• Issues the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, write and send to Quality Control Supervisor non-conformances reports.
• Control of storage and certification of consumables.
• Performs qualifications of coating processes.
• Checks surface preparation.
• Checks and records atmospheric conditions prior to starting of painting operations.
• Carries out wet and dry film thickness checks.
• Monitors observations of the correct coding cycles.
• Verifies the correct colour-coding and painting.
• Performs visuals inspections.
• Performs adhesion testing.
• Performs penetration testing.
• Evaluates impact testing.
• Performs visual checks after blasting.

Requirements
We are primarily looking for a candidate who demonstrates the following skills / Profile:

• Institute of Corrosion (ICorr) or NACE qualification Level 2 and Level 3

Technical coating experience to include the following:

• Painting and coating specifications
• Flaw/discontinuity identification and classification
• Blasting and surface parameters
• Painting techniques
• Coating repair systems
