Job Description
  • The Lead Risk and Reliability Engineer leads in the development and implementation of a risk/reliability strategy which improves asset integrity performance and promotes operational excellence on clients' facilities.
What you'll be doing:
  • Leading and developing a risk & reliability team of less experienced engineer
  • Leading the development Company operational risk and reliability management framework to be deployed on client assets.
  • Leading the development of risk-based initiatives for establishing asset integrity during design and safeguarding asset integrity during operation, while monitoring integrity compliances to improve safety and maximize the economic returns of all company assets and also prevent integrity threats from escalation towards major damages and failures
  • Originates and develops analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment, and processes.
  • Initiates elemental engineering studies into equipment/process repair time and uses details to reach more efficient solutions that improve facility uptime.
  • Lead the identification of equipment reliability issues
  • Coordinating with equipment-specific subject matter experts in the development of these strategies
  • Lead the detailed reliability studies and detailed calculations of component/system reliabilities.
  • Utilize maintainability data to develop well-defined repair techniques/principles/procedures.
  • Make recommendations for improving the repair cycle.
  • Lead the identification of safety, cost and quality opportunities and develop solutions of corrective actions.
  • Lead the analyses of cost advantages of alternatives for action plans to comply with client demands for reliable processes/equipment to avoid failures.
  • Facilitate and follows up on risk response planning and supports management in risk decision-making.
  • Participate in technical societies and technical groups; represent the company on industry committees or specialized groups at the national/regional/global level.
  • Conduct seminars, prepare manuals and train and develop the company engineers and operating personnel on Company operational risk and reliability management framework
  • Leading support groups in solving various technical challenges that improve reliability of the equipment
  • Conducts Risk Assessment studies
  • Working with the planning and maintenance teams to execute tasks associated with maintaining equipment reliability
  • Lead the identification of needs for Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA); leading and facilitating RCAs
  • Leading the formulation of solutions compatible with standard safety and health guidelines and other company policies
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of industry experience which will include 2+ years of professional experience in comparable role(s) or role(s) requiring similar responsibilities
  • Good understanding of the key activities involved in operation of oil and gas facilities within both onshore and offshore environments (including gas plants, NGL, chemicals, refineries, pipelines, terminals, wells and infield flow and trunk lines) such that candidate has an excellent appreciation of the client requirements and is able to fully articulate how Company can meet these needs
  • Ability to undertake risk modelling using Monte Carlo simulations with regard to improving OPEX, availability and lifetime of facilities.
  • Proven experience of failure modes, effects, criticality analysis, availability assessments, hazard identification/risk assessment workshops and Availability Workbench tools
  • Recent experience of RAMS engineering in oil and gas industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to influence and demonstrate confidence in communications with senior level management.
  • Ability to establish a risk management target operating model that supports the business's overall operating model.
  • Excellent technical report writing and presentation skills;
  • Working knowledge/ experience in Risk Management Techniques including qualitative and quantitative risk management; statistics and probability assessment; risk matrix; asset integrity monitoring and audits, fault trees, event trees, reliability block diagrams and undertake RAM and FMECAs of assets and systems.
  • Working knowledge of integrity management standards and practices; screening of consequences, including likelihood and consequence/impact assessment.
  • Working knowledge of advanced statistical tools
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering discipline
  • Advanced degree or professional certification is advantage
