We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Principal Construction Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Project Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure adherence to schedule and budget.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and supervise construction teams, including project managers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to foster professional growth and development.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and government officials to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Address stakeholder concerns and maintain positive relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Quality Control:

  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure construction meets industry standards and specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety and building codes.

Budget and Cost Management:

  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, and review cost estimates and proposals.
  • Identify cost-saving measures and minimize project expenses without compromising quality.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions during construction.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all personnel.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Prepare and present regular project updates to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and milestones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 20 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of overseeing large-scale projects.
  • Professional certification (e.g., PMP, CCM) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera, Procore, MS Project).
