Job Summary

• We are currently seeking to employ a suitably qualified Records Officer, responsible for accurately collecting new patients’ information and uploading it to the EMR, as well as properly filing a hard copy of the information.
• Maintaining quality and accurate records by following hospital procedures.

Responsibilities

• The records officer is responsible for gathering patient demographic and personal information and inputtingthe same on the EMR.
• Reviewingpatients' records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations.
• Posting of patients’ files or folders to the appropriate department of care assessment
• Manages the generation, preservation, and retrieval of medical records whenever they are needed
• Ensures elaborate and accurate medical records are available at all times.
• Compiles monthly medical statistical reports for statutory and reporting purposes.
• Ensuring that all medical records are protected and kept confidential
• He/she must ensure that every patient seeingthe doctor orreceivesany other treatments is billed appropriately and that the payment is made to the cashier.
• Ensures that bills sent out are correct and correspond with the treatment given and received by the patient.
• Ensures that every HMO patient whose platform is not covered for the required treatment is treated as either a private patient and/or gets an adequate code from the company before the commencement of treatment.
• Any other duty as may be officially assigned.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess OND / HND / B.Sc Degrees with 2 - 4 years relevant work experience.
