Job Title: Equipment Electrician

Reports to: Workshop Manager

Job Summary

• The Equipment Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and components of heavy-duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Installing and wiring electrical systems within these construction equipment Volvo,
• Bomack, Caterpillar and other heavy duty equipment. including machinery, vehicles and tools.
• Ensuring proper integration of electrical components to support equipment functionality.
• Adhering to electrical codes, regulations and safety standards specific to construction equipment.
• Identifying and addressing electrical hazards and ensuring equipment safety features are functional.
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical issues within construction equipment, including motors, controllers and wiring.
• Conducting testing to verify the proper functionality of equipment electrical systems.
• Performing routine maintenance on electrical components within equipment such as cleaning, inspection and preventive maintenance.
• Ensuring the longevity and reliability of equipment electrical systems.
• Upgrading electrical systems within equipment to accommodate changes in project requirements or enhance efficiency.
• Recommending and implementing equipment electrical system.
• Maintaining records of work performed on equipment electrical systems, including installation, repairs and maintenance activities.
• Reporting progress and issues to the workshop manager

Skills and Competency Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrical apprenticeship program.
• Electrician certification or license from relevant bodies.
• Demonstrated experience as an equipment electrician with expertise in heavy duty equipment, excavators etc
• Proven experience as a mechanic in construction equipment or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant professional experience .
• Strong knowledge of equipment -specific electrical systems and components.
• Dedication to safety and adherence to equipment-related electrical codes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on maintaining equipment reliability.
• Physical fitness and adaptability to work in various conditions and location within construction sites

Remuneration

• Salary: N250,000 - N400,000 monthly - Attractive.
