New Education Consult is a consulting firm for various schools in Lagos state. We are professions that seek to recruit high flyers in the labour market for our clients. Our clients range from Primary to Secondary School with both day and boarding faciliities with international standards. Curriculum are Nigerian, British and American taught at various levels. We ensure that employed candidates are treated as guided as the Nigerian Labour Law and international best practices.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Male Hostel Parent

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing a friendly, caring and safe environment for students.
• Responsible for ensuring routines are followed, including meal times, bedtimes and all other daily activities.
• Assist in providing pastoral care with regular meetings to help build connections within the hostel setting.
• Ensure the safety of all boarders by following lock up routines and liaising with the appropriate staff should any concerns arise.
• Maintain good communication with parents and keep them well informed about their daughter’s health, especially when she is ill or experiencing difficulties.
• Keep detailed records of communications with students and parents when required and ensure accurate file notes are maintained concerning student behaviour.
• Be a sounding board to the girls with problems or provide counselling services
• Ensure a high standard of presentation and tidiness in the Hostel.
• Ensure that all appointments, accidents and disciplinary matters are recorded.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in an academic environment.
•  Must have held a supervisory role in as a hostel staff
• A good understanding of the schooling system
• Active listening skills.
• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent time-management skills.
• Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well and respond patiently and effectively to the requests of students, parents and staff.
• Professional, Enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible.
•  Good knowledge of use ofICT tools.
