Job Description

• Our client is a diversified holding company with a strong presence in the Manufacturing, FMCG, and Agriculture sectors.
• They are seeking an experience Mechanical/Maintenance Engineer to join their team, with a strong background in maintenance and repair of packaging machines.
• The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of their packaging machinery, as well as leading maintenance and repair activities to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and predictive maintenance tasks on packaging machines, including troubleshooting and repair
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat failures
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to optimize machine performance
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure seamless integration of maintenance activities
• Provide technical training and support to maintenance technicians and operators
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement
• Implement cost-effective solutions to improve machine reliability and performance
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical/maintenance engineering, with a focus on packaging machine maintenance in the FMCG sector
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, dynamics, and thermodynamics
• Excellent understanding of packaging machine technology, including form-fill-seal, labeling, and coding
• Experience with programming and control systems, such as PLCs and HMIs
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Familiarity with FMCG industry standards and regulations.
• Strong time management and organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks and make decisions under pressure.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
