Job Title: Junior Accountant (NYSC)

Job Summary

  • The Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks and financial activities within the organization. They support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This position offers an opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in accounting processes and contribute to the overall financial operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaising with clients and collecting of payment on client accounts.
  • Recording transactions such asincome and outgoing; posting them to various account • Processing payments
  • Producing various financial reports
  • Reconciling reports to third party; reports such as bank statements
  • Update and maintain the general ledger.
  • Monitor any variances from the projected budget and identify cost saving techniques.
  • Inventory and fixed asset management.
  • Process accounts receivable and payable
  • Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Payment and reporting of PAYE, pension, HMO, VAT & WHT
  • Support activities of accountant and controller.
  • Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Entry-level position suitable for recent graduates or candidates with up to 1-2 years of relevant internship experience.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
