Position Summary

• Public Health Information, Surveillance Solutions and Systems (PHIS3) is seeking a skilled Microsoft C# .NET Specialist to develop highly distributed web, desktop, and mobile applications using ASP.NET, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, .NET, C#, and other modern programming languages.
• Your role involves designing, coding, and maintaining .NET applications, ensuring performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Reporting to the Public Health Information Systems Advisor, you will work on agile project teams to deliver robust solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop in-house applications using C#, .NET framework, and other programming languages.
• Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications.
• Design and maintain efficient, reliable, reusable C# and .NET code.
• Ensure optimal performance and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs, maintaining code quality.
• Participate in agile Scrum deliveries and manage technical risks.
• Collaborate within project teams and assist with code organization.
• Evaluate new technologies to enhance software features.
• Provide technical support and end-user training.
• Design backend databases and ensure software compatibility.
• Develop technical interfaces, specifications, and prototypes.

Qualifications and Requirements

• BSc / MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in C#, .NET 3.5+, and Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Familiarity with PHP, C++, Java, VB.NET, etc., and their ecosystems.
• Strong understanding of coding best practices and development processes.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in agile environments.
• Object-oriented development expertise.
• Experience with Database design and Web Services.
• Knowledge of Git, SVN, and Mercurial for source control.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with design patterns and ORM frameworks.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with automated testing and continuous integration.
