Job Title: Head, Corporate Communications

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company's brand reputation, maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, and effectively communicate our corporate messages internally and externally.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to promote the company's brand, values, and initiatives.
  • Craft and oversee the execution of annual communication plans and budgets.
  • Draft press releases, speeches, and other media materials.
  • Ensure consistent branding across all communication platforms.
  • Manage internal and external communications and channels, including newsletters, press releases, social media platforms, and the company website to ensure compliance with the company’s brand.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of corporate materials, including brochures, presentations, and reports.
  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to manage and mitigate potential risks.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all crisis communications, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information.
  • Oversee the creation of engaging content for various communication channels including the company’s website, social media, and newsletters to ensure alignment with the company’s messaging standard.
  • Organize and coordinate corporate events, conferences, press briefings, and sponsorships to enhance the company's visibility and reputation.
  • Coordinate CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives and community engagement programs.
  • Oversee the website, ensuring it’s up-to-date, user-friendly, and optimized for Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
  • Grow our presence on all social media platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends and provide insights and recommendations to management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, investors, regulators, industry associations, media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers.
  • Conduct regular analysis and evaluation of communication efforts and recommend improvements to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related roles, preferably within the financial services or investment banking industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies and campaigns.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences and platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and content management systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian financial markets, regulations, and industry best practices is highly desirable.
