Job Title: Account Officer

Location: Maryland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Operations Lead and CCO (Chief Creative Officer).

Job Description

  • In this role, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the financial health of our business.
  • You'll be responsible for a range of accounting tasks, working closely with various departments to maintain accurate financial records and contribute to the company's success.
  • You will be responsible for the accuracy and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and examine financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting standards such as GAAP and IFRS.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances, and providing insights for decision-making.
  • Reconciliations: Reconcile expenses, bank balance, revenue and inventory receipts.
  • Audit and Assurance: Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documentation.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payment of invoices and collection of receivables.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on financial regulations and ensure the company’s compliance with financial laws and guidelines.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and operations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support business objectives.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Operations Lead.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.

Person Specification

  • BSc in Accounting, Economics or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounts payable/receivable or bookkeeping role.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (debits, credits, double-entry bookkeeping).
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Sheets.
  • Knowledge of Accounting Software is an added advantage.

Salary
N120,000 - N170,000 per month.
