Job Summary
Why Does This Position Exist?

• Supervises a group of five or more Engineers plus design personnel,  by directing technical engineering assignments, monitoring manhrs, progress and coordinating with other disciplines.
• Plays a key role in submiting quality deliverables as per project schedule.  
• To be suitable for this position, the person should be minimum a mechancial engineering graduate with a similar experience in the field of oil & gas/petrochemical of 10-15 yrs.

Responsibilities

• To ensure Health, Safety and Environment has the highest priority in all activities undertaken by Engineering and Design personnel.
• Understanding the scope of work for the project, identifying the deliverables, preparation of CTRs for the project.
• Identify the activities to be performed, distribute/assign the work among the subordinates.
• Monitor the work progress on a daily basis with the subordinates to make sure that the deliverables are submitted as per schedule.
• Monitor the man-hrs for the project. Prepare weeky progress report. Attend weekly progress meetings.
• Review of datasheets, specifications, studies, requisitions, TBE prepared by the subordinates.
• Review of supplier drawings & documents, discussion with suppliers
• Participate in design review, HAZOP

Requirements 

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical engineering with 10-15 years of related working experience.     
• Sound knowledge of the latest applicable international codes and standards, design practices and design quality     standards.
• Capable of design of static equipment, selection of rotating equipment like pumps, compressors, engines etc.
• Proficient with design softwares like PVElite, Codecalc used for equipment design.
• Proficient in computer skills like MS office, internet.
• Effective communication skills to be able to successfully work in a team environment and communicate effectively with other disciplines.
• Good oral, written communication skills.
• Creativity, innovative & result oriented
