Job Title: Head, New Business Development

Reports To: CEO
Job Summary
- Responsible for identifying and driving new business opportunities within the Technology (Software Development) and Telecommunications lines of the company’s business.
- Ensure cohesive and innovative approaches to translating projects from ideation stage to implementation and expanding the company's market presence.
- This role involves strategic planning, market analysis,and leading cross-functional teams to achieve business growth.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to identify and capture new business opportunities in the Technology and Telecommunications sectors.
- Conduct market research and analysis to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
- Translate market research into competitive and profitable products/projects implemented by the Company.
- Lead development and technology teams to harness and implement new business ideas and opportunities.
- Promote the commercialisation and adoption of new products of the company.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and potential markets for expansion.
- Develop business cases and feasibility studies for new projects and initiatives.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, industry partners, and potential customers.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote business growth.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and audits to maintain service excellence.
- Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the CEO.
Other Responsibilities:
- In addition to the function-specific competencies and experience, interested applicants must be self-starters, who possess entrepreneurial acumen and a “can-do” spirit needed to navigate a competitive business landscape.
Competency and Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., PMP, ITIL) will be an added advantage.
- Up to 10 years of experience in business development, with verifiable results, preferably within the Technology and Telecommunications sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive business growth and competitive advantage.
- Proficiency in market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive dynamics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, partners, and internal teams.
- Strong business negotiation and contract management skills to secure favorable terms and partnerships.
- Appreciation of software development processes, telecommunications technologies, and industry standards.
- Ability to foster a culture of innovation and identify new technologies and solutions that drive business growth.
