Job Title: Project Manager (Construction)

Location: Nigeria
Reports To: Head, Operations

Job Summary

• Execution of the company's real estate development projects. This role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones to ensure timely project delivery.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to establish project requirements, deliverables, and timelines.
• Allocate resources, including labour, materials, and equipment, to meet project requirements.
• Manage procurement processes and ensure timely availability of necessary resources.
• Supervise construction activities to ensure adherence to building plans, project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and address any issues or deviations from plans.
• Lead and supervise site foremen and workmen, providing clear instructions and guidance.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all site personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
• Establish and maintain quality control processes to ensure high standards of workmanship.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, site logs, and change orders.
• Provide regular updates to the Head of Operations and other stakeholders on project status and milestones.
• Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the Head, Operations.

Other Responsibilities:

• In addition to the function-specific competencies and experience, interested applicants must be self-starters, who possess entrepreneurial acumen and a “can-do” spirit needed to navigate a competitive business landscape.

Competency and Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Up to 6 years of experience in construction project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering real estate development projects.
• Professional certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and industry standards.
• Effective leadership and team management skills with the ability to supervise and motivate site personnel.
• Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control to ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• High level of attention to detail and quality assurance to ensure project excellence.
