Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

• A Finance Officer is responsible for financial planning and budgeting: Preparing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
• Preparing financial statements, reports, and analyses.
• Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Managing cash flow, ensuring liquidity, and optimizing investments.
• Identifying and mitigating financial risks, such as fraud and market volatility.
• Ensuring adherence to financial regulations, laws, and company policies.
• Analyzing financial data to inform business decisions.
• Managing foreign exchange, hedging, and short-term investments.
• Ensuring compliance with tax laws and optimizing tax strategies. (WHT,VAT&PAYE) before deadline
• Summarize current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other relevant reports
• Managing insurance policies and claims.
• Identifying opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement improvements.
• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance and co-ordinate and drive month-end and year-end close process
• Operate based on set business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Communicate effectively with clients and contribute to a strong client relationship through positive interactions with client personnel

Requirements

• At least 4 years proven experience as a Finance officers
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and practices
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially MS Excel) and QuickBooks, Sage , is mandatory
• An analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Keen eye for detail
• Organizational and leadership skills
• BSc / BA in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certification (e.g. ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
• Auditing of a Marine Environment organization will be an added advantage.

Salary
N300,000 - N 500,000 Monthly.
