Job Title: Electromechanical Engineer

Location: Lagos / Ibadan Express Way, Ogun

Description

  • The Electromechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, installation, and maintenance of both electrical and mechanical systems within our recycling facilities.
  • This role demands a versatile engineer proficient in both electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines to ensure the optimal performance of our equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct general maintenance inspections, perform routine electrical maintenance, and respond to faults in electrical systems and machinery to ensure optimal operation.
  • System Design and Improvement: Design, develop, and implement electro-mechanical systems and processes that enhance recycling operations, including automation systems for sorting and processing materials.
  • Equipment Specifications: Develop and establish specifications for electrical and mechanical equipment used in the recycling process, ensuring they meet operational requirements.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze existing processes to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, production staff, and quality assurance teams, to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical support and training to staff on the operation and maintenance of electro-mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, maintenance logs, and operational procedures, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Project Management: Plan and manage engineering projects related to the installation and upgrade of recycling equipment, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all electrical and mechanical systems comply with safety regulations and standards to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience as an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including PLCs, motors, sensors, and automation.
  • Proficient in CAD software and other engineering design tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in the recycling or waste management industry.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
