Job Description
- Are you someone who can critically look at spatial data? Do you have an inherent need to push the boundaries of how things are done?
- As an industry leader in the cutting-edge field of digital mapping, traffic and navigation solutions; we are looking to recruit a GIS DATA ANALYST, the brightest minds in the Geospatial field in Nigeria to join our Research and Development team within the Navigation and Map Data Operations Unit.
Responsibilities
- Controlling data quality by means of database queries, automated scripts, GIS tools etc.
- Validating and testing new processes and software
- Checking correctness and completeness of our products
- Performing data or process analysis and providing the results within defined scope and timeframe
- Suggesting process and data quality improvements as well as suggesting strategies for solving problems
- Assessing, analysing and following up on feedback provided by end users, business owners, colleagues and B2B customers
- Perform comparisons between real world and digitals maps.
Requirements
- Professional knowledge about GIS software (preferably ArcGIS) and/or database environments of at least 2 years.
- Knowledge SQL and the ability to write queries
- Qualifications/experience of programming languages and/or scripting languages (e.g. Python) will be an advantage
- Experience in GIS projects, data mining and/Or automating procedures
- Excellent analytical skills and cross-functional thinking
- Have a good knowledge of GPS navigation
- Have a very good knowledge of the geographical location of places on African Continent.
- Knowledge of Navigation data processing software will be an added advantage.
