We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Hotel Porter

Location: Sabo Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
Theresponsibilities include:

  • Greeting Guests: Welcoming guests as they arrive at the hotel and offering assistance with their luggage.
  • Luggage Handling:Transporting guests' luggage to and from their rooms, ensuring it is handled with care.
  • Room Escorting: Accompanying guests to their rooms, explaining the room's features and amenities, and answering any initial questions they might have.
  • Providing Information: Offering information about hotel services, local attractions, dining options, and transportation.
  • Running Errands: Performing various tasks such as delivering messages, packages, or amenities to guest rooms.
  • Assisting with Departures: Helping guests with their luggage during check-out and arranging for transportation if needed.
  • Maintaining the Lobby: Keeping the lobby area tidy and presentable, often assisting with setting up and taking down displays or decorations.
  • Security Assistance: Ensuring guest safety by monitoring the entrance and reporting any suspicious activity to security or management.
  • Overall, a hotel porter contributes significantly to the guest's first and last impressions of the hotel, playing a key role in guest satisfaction.

Skills and Requirements
This are key skills required for this role include:

  • Interested candidates should possess an SSCE qualification with 1 - 3 years work experience.
  • Customer Service: Ability to interact positively with guests, providing courteous and efficient service.
  • Communication: Strong verbal communication skills to understand guest requests and convey information clearly.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage and stand for extended periods.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time to handle multiple tasks and assist guests promptly.
  • Problem-Solving: Quickly and effectively resolve guest issues and requests.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring guest requests are accurately fulfilled and paying attention to guest needs.
  • Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the hotel's services and local attractions to provide recommendations and directions.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well with other hotel staff to provide seamless guest services.
  • Professional Appearance: Maintaining a neat and professional appearance at all times.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and adjust to different guest needs and situations.
