Job Overview

• We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The Kitchen Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by providing support in food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with various kitchen tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs and cooks in preparing ingredients for meals, such as washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing vegetables and fruits.
• Prepare simple dishes, such as salads, sandwiches, and appetizers, under the supervision of senior kitchen staff.
• Ensure the kitchen area is clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.
• Assist in checking and receiving deliveries of food supplies and kitchen equipment.
• Store food items properly and ensure that they are used before their expiration dates.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.

Requirements

• Interested candidates should possess an NCE, OND, SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification with 2 - 5 years work experience.
• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus but not mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Basic knowledge of Chinese dishes is an added advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
