Position Description
  • Develop Occupational Health Policies, Standards and Guidelines for best practice.
  • Conduct Health Risk Assessment (HRA) and Health Impact Assessment (HIAs)
  • Advise management on the requirements of company policies and standards for occupational health in line with local legal requirements, OGP standards, best practise in Industry and gain their commitment for achieving these to ensure best practice.
  • Assess the work environment for potential exposures and provide medical expertise to the site on all matters relating to work and health.
  • Identify and make recommendations to address local health related issues of importance to both the individual and the organization’s well-being, e.g. ergonomics, managing stress at various sites.
  • Develop and implement Health Education and Promotion Programs
  • Develop and implement Health Surveillance programs and maintain associated records
  • Monitor employees’ Occupational and non-occupational illness/ injury relating them to work and lifestyle generated risks to ensure that appropriate preventive control measures are in place.
  • Interpretation and evaluation of the worker's medical and occupational history, subjective complaints, and physical examination, along with any laboratory values or other diagnostic screening tests, industrial hygiene and personal exposure monitoring values
  • Interpretation of medical diagnosis to workers and their employers
  • Develop and implement Medical Emergency Response plans
  • Implement Food and Water Safety programs
  • Develop and sustain a communicable disease management
  • Develop Health Performance Indicators for Management reviews
Position Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree (minimum of second class lower division) or equivalent in science or environmental management disciplines.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the oil and gas industry with relevant professional membership of waste/ environmental management institutes.
