Job Title: Project Officer

Job Summary

  • The Project Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing projects related to women’s health and empowerment.
  • This role requires a strategic thinker with experience in project management, coordination, and stakeholder engagement within the non-profit or healthcare sector.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.  
  • Coordinate project activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.  
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress, making adjustments as necessary to achieve objectives.  
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including reports, budgets, and records of activities.  
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective project execution and stakeholder engagement.  
  • Manage project budgets and resources, ensuring efficient use of funds and adherence to financial guidelines.  
  • Conduct field visits to project sites to assess progress, address challenges, and provide support as needed.  
  • Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders, including donors and senior management.  
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.  
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, preferably within the non-profit or healthcare sector.  
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.  
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.  
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.  

Skills and Competencies:  

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on results.  
  • Experience in budgeting, financial management, and report writing.  
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.  
  • Proficiency in Hausa language is an added advantage.
