Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with and further develop as necessary the provisions of the Nigerian Content Policy.
  • Identify and report monthly to management the areas of operation of the Company with high potential for increasing participation of “local companies” as defined in the Nigerian Content policy, and promote the highest possible participation of these companies.
  • Carry out the categorisation of all companies doing or intending to do business with the Company in accordance with the categories defined in the NCP and update the categorisation quarterly.
  • Define and monitor yardsticks on Nigerian content in Company’s activities.
  • Serve as an advocate for Nigerian content by promoting awareness of it within the Company and liaise with all departments, units and teams in the Company and in Headquarters to obtain and disseminate information on best practice in promoting Nigerian content.
  • Interface and coordinate as necessary with the Contract Development & Administration Unit to ensure that Company’s tendering, contracting and purchasing procedures give preference to local companies where core competence and capacity are available and can be demonstrated.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and government directives on Nigerian content and handle all reports on compliance as may be required.
  • Coordinate the Integration of NipeX activities in the company Operations
  • Educate internal customers to ensure broad understanding and awareness of the Nigerian content Strategy.
 
Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree (minimum of second class lower division) or its equivalent in Science, Engineering or any relevant social science discipline.  
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in materials/logistics, procurement, contracts and supply chain in the oil & gas industry and membership of relevant professional body is desirable.
