Position Description
  • Conduct subsurface geophysical mapping and interpretation studies using well data and seismic datasets to characterize the full range of subsurface uncertainties.
  • Assist with the completion of structural mapping, reservoir mapping, facies mapping, reservoir connectivity, volumetric assessments and 3D geological model construction.
  • Assist with structural reconstruction, reservoir mapping, connectivity and field characterization studies.
  • Champion seismic acquisition, depth conversion and reprocessing efforts (e.g. velocity model construction, time-depth conversion etc.)
  • Identify value creating opportunities and mature well targets for future drilling
  • Participate in the well planning team and assist writing of the Basis of Well Design documents
  • In collaboration with team, generate contingency plans for (seismic/hazards acquisition operations, well activities, sidetrack options and wellbore geophysical and other wellbore data acquisition.
  • Utilize decision analysis techniques to evaluate decisions and value of information.
  • Liaison and coordinate with other teams, in-house specialists, contractors and consultants. Engage and monitor work by specialists and specialist contractors as and when needed
  • Help communicate the team's technical results, conclusions and recommendations to Asset Management in both formal and informal forums.
Position Requirements
A Bachelor’sdegree (Second Class, Lower Division) or its equivalent in Petroleum Engineering, Geology or other Geoscience with 10 to 15 years in upstream oil and gas industry with experience from the following areas:
  • Familiarity with Geophysical workstation mapping techniques
  • Practical experience with 3D and 2D seismic reprocessing projects
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in operated and non-operated deepwater projects is preferred
  • Experience in seismic quantitative interpretations
