We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Program Officer (Adolescent Health)

Location: Abuja
Job type: Full-time

Responsibilities
Generic Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to PIHC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Implement delegated program responsibilities according to plan of action
  • Ensure program objectives are met within the specified timeframe and budget.
  • Monitor implementation of Program plans as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Support in overseeing programmatic reporting, and identify and address potential issues proactively, taking corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure adherence to Program implementation to Program Document
  • Support in ensuring Smooth day-to-day running of the department
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the Program function

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Representation of PiHC interests in external meetings and planning efforts nationally. 
  • Ensure program objectives are met within the specified timeframe and budget.
  • Monitor implementation of Program plans as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Support in programmatic reporting, and identify and address potential issues proactively, taking corrective actions when needed.
  • Support in the implementation of strategically tailored programs to Nigeria’s context.
  • Support program implementation through thorough assessments, baselines, budget planning, monitoring, evaluations, field visits, and reporting.
  • Support in the design, implement, and monitor training and mentoring programs for PiHC Program staff.
  • Monitor Program spending according to the approved budgets.
  • Must understand and communicate with young people in ways they can relate and understand
  • Ensure financial compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.
  • Prepare and present financial reports as required.
  • Ensure availability of up-to-date needs assessment (preferably multi-sectoral) to inform program design and advocacy efforts.
  • Ensure all relevant stakeholders are included in the planning and implementation of Programs as appropriate. 
  • Consolidation, review, and sign-off of concept notes and proposals input submitted to the Program Manager.

Functional / Technical Responsibilities:

  • Experience implementing public health programs in resource-limited settings.
  • Experience implementing SRH.
  • Experience in the implementation of donor-funded programs.
  • Experience working with Adolescents and young people
  • At least 3 years experience working with an NGO.
  • Experience working with young people and adolescents providing prevention services with referral options.

Your Profile (Eligibility Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a Health-related field, Social Sciences or its equivalent
  • A Health Personnel, Social worker or caregiver
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience
  • Candidates must be a Computer literate
  • Possess a Positive attitude (demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, approachability and diplomacy).
  • Ability to withstand work-related pressure, and deliver tasks in line with PiHC quality standard
  • Must understand and communicate with young people in ways they can relate to and understand.
  • Fluency in English Language is a must.
