We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Production Lead

Location: Abeokuta, Ogun
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Description

  • To lead and coordinate the Processing & Packaging operations team in order to meet production targets and ensure product quality & safety in the most efficient and effective manner, delivering on timelines and cost targets.

Duties & Responsibilities
Plant & Capacity Utilization:

  • Coordinate basic maintenance and cleaning with operatives.
  • Monitor production and packing processes.
  • Interpret and implement production plans for shifts.
  • Support the team in improving process quality and productivity.

Manage Plant, Process, and Systems:

  • Ensure conformance to specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Facilitate effective team dynamics.
  • Implement performance management systems.
  • Communicate effectively within the workplace.

Production Records and Report Management:

  • Ensure detailed and up-to-date records.
  • Maintain data integrity.
  • Adhere to reporting standards and ensure integrity.

Health, Safety, and Environment:

  • Ensure adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) policies.
  • Maintain general housekeeping standards.
  • Identify and address unsafe practices.
  • Conduct and audit safety inspections.
  • Audit safe operation and maintenance practices.

People Management:

  • Develop staff technical skills through on-the-job training.
  • Execute planned job rotation.
  • Create alternates for all critical roles.
  • Foster team spirit.
  • Manage staff performance.
  • Provide weekly and monthly feedback to staff.
  • Document and follow SOPs and recipes.

Decision Making & Authorities:

  • Ensure compliance with required specifications for raw materials and finished products.
  • Initiate production plans in line with available resources and approved guidelines.
  • Inform the Production Manager of any issues that could alter the production process and decisions taken.
  • Make management and budgetary decisions regarding production and human resource issues.

Educational Qualifications, Experience & Requirements

  • HND / BSc Degree in Engineering or Food Technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a food processing company
  • Leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Crisis management capabilities.
  • Knowledge of processing operations management and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of the principles and practices of Total Productive Management (TPM).
