Motion Designer at LemFi (Formerly Lemonade Finance)

LemFi (YC S21) is building the neobank for African diaspora in North America & Europe. We provide our users with a multi-currency account that allows them to hold, send, and receive money from Africa in any currency for their business and personal banking needs. We are a fast-paced startup with entities in the UK, USA, Canada and Nigeria and you would be required to familiarize yourself with necessary statutory and regulatory requirements in these locations.

Job Description

• Your role as motion designer is a fully remote position within Lemonade Finance's Marketing team
• As the ideal candidate, you should have experience creating content for marketing and brand storytelling efforts.
• You will support Lemonade Finance's marketing expansion efforts in Africa, North America and Europe.

Who you Are:

• You are a candidate with a portfolio that showcases your creative storytelling and technical skills using motion design and animation.
• You are experienced in using industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite and are able to work with designers through the Figma, Photoshop, XD and Illustrator pipelines.
• Ideally, you've had at least three (3) years of experience, working in an editorial or brand storytelling capacity for a digital media publisher or at a fintech startup like ours. If you're able to work efficiently and effectively on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, then you'll fit in here.
• The teams here at Lemonade Finance are passionate about their work and fields of expertise, but also lend hands-on cross-functional responsibilities to ensure the success of the company and the satisfaction of our clientele.

Responsibilities

• Develop motion graphics and animations for marketing, editorial and brand storytelling projects
• Collaborate with designers and other team members to ensure a consistent design and branding across all materials
• Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Produce short and long-form videos across digital channels (specifically Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter)
• Stay up to date with the latest design trends and technologies
• Engage external collaborators & agencies in motion design projects.
• Basic video editing tasks
• Support cross-functional teams as needed to achieve the company's goals
• Effectively communicate project progress and any issues that arise with the team and clients
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
• Continuously improve skills and knowledge through training, research, and experimentation to enhance the quality of work delivered.

Requirements

• Demonstrable skills in animation & motion design.
• Solid portfolio, showcasing your ability to create engaging videos, graphics and motion animations.
• Solid design, typography and sound design
• Compliance with the agreed brand design guidelines (colours & fonts)
• Knowledge of 3D design, compositing and animation is a plus.
