We design, build and operate the lowest cost hybrid (solar and biomass) power plant and distribution network in India and Africa. To date, Husk has provided electricity to over 15,000 homes and business, reducing 95,000 tonnes of CO2. Our aim is to provide 30MW of power to 225,000 customers by 2025, and save 350,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.

Job Title: Site Acquisition Manager

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced Communication Tower or Mini-grid Site Acquisition Manager with at least 5 years of experience in telecom infrastructure, focusing on rural tower site acquisition.
  • This role requires a strategic leader capable of driving the identification, negotiation, and acquisition of prime sites for Renewable Mini-Grid projects.
  • The individual will be instrumental in leading stakeholder engagement across various levels in regions where Husk is active or plans to expand.
  • The position is vital in broadening our network presence in rural areas and ensuring the seamless integration of new sites into our operations portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
General:

  • Lead the process of identifying and securing mini-grid locations in rural areas across Northern Nigeria.
  • Develop strategies to identify and prioritize communities suitable for Mini-grid projects.
  • Oversee the end-to-end site acquisition process, from identifying potential sites to finalizing exclusivity agreements.
  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies to foster positive relationships and mitigate potential conflicts.
  • Maintain an active database of the minutes and pictures of all community engagement meetings and relevant agreement documentation at the point of acquiring a site.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and active database of all key stakeholders in both existing and newly acquired communities.
  • Support in ensuring timely registration and submission of documentation for relevant regulatory permits with regulators and other government stakeholders.
  • Provide relevant support for the Security Coordinator in documenting possible security insights gathered during site acquisition exercises.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on site acquisition progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Mentor and manage a team of Site Acquisition Officers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful execution of site acquisition strategies.

Required Skills & Attributes

  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is discipline.
  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge in identifying and acquiring rural tower sites for a telecom infrastructure company and regulatory requirements in Nigeria.
  • Must have a solid knowledge on GIS 
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate challenges and find innovative solutions.
  • Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel extensively to rural and remote areas as required by the job.             

Salary
N200,000 - N300,000 Monthly.
