Job Title: Data Collectors on School Safety Assessment

Locations: Adamawa, Bauchi and Sokoto
Slots: 90 (30 for each state)

Job Description

  • LEARN to Read will recruit Assessors across the states (Adamawa, Bauchi and Sokoto) that will be responsible for collecting data for the School Safety Assessment.
  • The School Safety Assessment aims to evaluate the current safety measures, protocols, and practices within the school environment.
  • The goal is to identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.

Objectives

  • To collect comprehensive data on the current safety conditions of the school.
  • To assess the effectiveness of existing safety protocols and measures.
  • To identify potential safety hazards and risks.
  • To provide recommendations for enhancing school safety.

Responsibilities

  • Attend training sessions to understand data collection tools and methodologies.
  • Accurately document findings and observations.
  • Compile and submit data in a timely manner.
  • Review data collection tools and familiarize yourself with the school environment.
  • Conduct structured interviews with school administrators, teachers, security personnel, and other relevant stakeholders as outlined.
  • Participate in debriefing sessions to discuss observations and findings with the assessment team.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all data collected.
  • Regular check-ins with the project lead to ensure adherence to data collection protocols.

Deliverables

  • Completed survey forms uploaded to the project secure server.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English and local languages of the respective states.
  • Access to a smartphone and the ability to use it proficiently.
  • Familiarity with the school system and educational institutions.
  • Domicile in the sampled LGA.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior experience in data collection or survey administration is required.
