Job Title: Plant & Operations Manager

Locations: Lekki, Lagos & Abia

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Recycling Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our recycling facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the recycling plant, raw materials sourcing, including the receipt, sorting, processing, and shipment of recyclable materials.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and train plant staff, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions.
  • Environmental Compliance: Monitor plant activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste disposal and emissions controls.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the plant’s budget, focusing on cost control, resource allocation, and financial performance.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve plant efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance the quality of recycled materials.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and downtime is minimized.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on plant operations, including production volumes, costs, and any issues impacting performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in plant management, preferably in a recycling or waste management environment.
  • Strong knowledge of recycling processes, materials, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
