Job Description

  • We are seeking a reliable and experienced Maintenance Officer to join our team at Uncle Stan´s Foods.
  • He or she must conduct routine maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime and maintain a safe and functional environment for customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance checks on kitchen equipment, refrigeration units, HVAC systems, and other facilities to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and address any mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues promptly to prevent disruptions to restaurant operations.
  • Schedule and oversee regular servicing and calibration of equipment to prolong lifespan and maintain efficiency.

Facility Management:

  • Conduct regular inspections of the restaurant premises to identify areas requiring repairs or maintenance, such as plumbing leaks, electrical issues, or structural damage.
  • Coordinate with external contractors or service providers to address facility maintenance needs efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout the restaurant.

Emergency Response:

  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as equipment breakdowns or facility damage, to minimize impact on operations and ensure the safety of customers and staff.
  • Implement contingency plans and temporary solutions when necessary to maintain essential services until permanent repairs can be completed.
  • Keep detailed records of emergency incidents and follow-up actions taken for future reference and analysis.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed to ensure adequate availability for ongoing maintenance activities.
  • Keep accurate records of inventory transactions and expenditures to track budget utilization and optimize procurement processes.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, finance, and procurement, to coordinate maintenance activities and address cross-functional issues effectively.
  • Provide guidance and support to restaurant staff regarding proper use and care of equipment and facilities to prevent damage and prolong lifespan.
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding maintenance schedules, repairs, and any potential impacts on restaurant operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in hospitality or food service management is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in the role, preferably in a restaurant setting.
  • Strong technical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office applications.
