Job Title: Female Purchasing Officer (Buying Sewing Materials)

Job Summary

• The purchasing officer is responsible for sourcing, procuring and managing materials, goods, and services necessary for the fashion house’s operations. This role requires analytical, communication and negotiation skills to ensure efficient and cost-effective purchasing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Sourcing and Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers for fabrics, trims, notions, and other materials.
• Material Sourcing: Procure high-quality materials, considering factors like cost, quality, lead time, and sustainability.
• Cost Management: Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing excess.
• Purchase Order Management: Create, process, and track purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
• Quality Control: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure materials meet quality standards.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights on material costs and market trends.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulations, laws, and company policies, mitigating risks in the supply chain.
• Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with design, production, and other departments to ensure alignment and effective purchasing strategies.
• Market Research and Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, analyzing data to optimize purchasing decisions.
• Must be familiar with simple and basic accounting records.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of the fashion industry, materials, and supply chain management
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., fashion, business, or supply chain management)

Salary
N80,000 - N100,000 monthly.
