We are involved in trading and selling of fertilizers such as Urea, NPK (15:15:15, 12:12:17, 20:10:10), Organic and liquid, various other agro-inputs including certified seeds, and agro-chemicals such as compost, insecticides and herbicides. Over the last 12 months, the company has traded Urea fertilizer through its distribution channels to the tune of 210,000 tons amounting to NGN 26,600,000,000.00 (Twenty six billion six hundred million naira) which made us a leading distributor of the input products in Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Environmental and Social Governance Officer

Location: Kano
Employment Type: Full-time
Functional Unit: Health, Safety and Environmental Control / HSE
Reporting To: Operations Project Manager / CEO

Job Summary

  • The ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing strategies and initiatives related to sustainability, and health and safety within the organization.
  • This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, promoting socially responsible practices, and enhancing overall ESG performance indicators related to processing operations focusing on WECAN and resource use reduction.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, superintend, and drive a comprehensive Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) strategy that;
  • Aligns the Company’s overall business objectives with actions that respect and protect the environment;
  • Coordinate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Community Development (CD) sentiments;
  • Ensures the organization is run accountably, transparently, fairly, and responsibly; and
  • Actively manages engagement with stakeholders
  • Ensure that ESG related procedures are adhered to and tasks are performed accordingly.
  • Ensure procedures and policies are reviewed frequently and are in accordance with ESG performance standards.
  • Report to Management on any ESG issues.

Internally:

  • Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director, ESG & other and all staff in other depts.

Externally:

  • CBOs, stakeholders on Health, safety and environment.
