The Posh Oak Academy is a new Pre-schoolstrategically located opposite African First Ladies Peace mission building at Abogo Largerma Street off constitution Avenue Central Business District Abuja. Our rich curriculum is a perfect blend of the existing British, Montessori, American and Nigerian curricula

We are starting off with two classes: Mustard class for 2-3 years olds & The Palms class for 3-4 year olds. Our staff are properly trained to cater to your kids education needs as well as other needs. Our staff are properly trained to cater to your kids education needs as well as other needs. Our preschool is equipped with kidsize accessories (e.g. Sinks, WCs, baths etc) to give the kids independence while developing their hygiene skills as well as other skills that will set the tone for the rest of their lives.

Job Title: Nursery School Teacher

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

  • Responsible for creating a nurturing, stimulating, and safe learning environment for young children aged 1-5 years.
  • This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities that foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a stimulating and highly interactive learning environment through class displays, arrangement and teaching styles and produce visual aids and teaching resources to meet pupils learning needs
  • Prepare lesson plans in accordance with the school curriculum objectives to meet the personalized needs of the children in your class
  • Ensure the health and safety of children and staff are maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the school
  • Work with others, including caregivers to plan and coordinate work both indoors and outdoors
  • Observe, assess and record each child’s academic, social and emotional progress whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Analyze student assessments and feedback to identify areas where academic support may be needed and ensuring that performance metrics are met.
  • Ensure your classroom is clean and orderly.
  • Prepare and distribute periodic progress reports.
  • Attend parent-teacher meetings.
  • Allocate and grade learning activities, homework, and tests.
  • Organize extracurricular activities such as class presentations at school social events.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in curriculum developments, teaching resources and methods and making relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
