Grassroots Lifesaving Outreach (LESGO) is an impartial, neutral and independent Non-Governmental Organization whose mission exclusively established to promote life in underserved communities through empowering communities to know and protect lives including their environment towards ensuring safe habitation through participatory methodology.

Established in Grassroots Lifesaving Outreach was established in 2010 but was incorporated in the year 2011 with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). LESGO exists to partner with government and relevant agencies to promote and strengthen humanitarian law and a universal principle that seeks to honor the dignity of mankind with support and believe that Life is worth living and living well.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Assistant

Location: Madagali, Adamawa
Employment Type: Contract
Reports to: MEAL Officer
Duration: 3 months

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical WaSH MEAL Assistant Officer to support the monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning of our WaSH programs.
  • The successful candidate will assist in collecting and analyzing data, conducting assessments, and providing insights to improve WaSH program performance and impact.
  • The WaSH MEAL Assistant Officer will work closely with the WaSH team, partners, and communities to ensure accountability and learning, ultimately contributing to the delivery of high-quality WaSH services to affected populations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and implementing WaSH MEAL plans and tools
  • Collect and analyze data on WaSH program indicators and outcomes
  • Conduct field visits and assessments to monitor WaSH program progress
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve WaSH program performance
  • Support accountability mechanisms, such as community feedback and complaints response
  • Contribute to learning and knowledge management, including documentation and reporting

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science)
  • At least 2 years of experience in MEAL, preferably in WaSH or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in challenging environments and under pressure
  • Fluency in English, Hausa and/or Local languages.
