Job Summary
- The Solar Installation Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of solar power systems.
- This role involves conducting site assessments, creating system designs, installing solar equipment, and ensuring optimal performance of solar energy systems.
- The engineer will work closely with other team members to deliver high-quality installations that meet safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning:
- Install photovoltaic (PV) systems, including solar panels, inverters, wiring, and other related equipment.
- Ensure all installations are completed according to design plans, safety standards, and electrical codes.
- Test and commission solar systems to ensure proper operation and performance, and troubleshoot any issues during installation.
System Maintenance & Repair:
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support for installed solar systems to ensure peak performance.
- Diagnose and repair system faults or underperformance issues.
- Monitor system performance remotely (where applicable) and conduct periodic inspections.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all work complies with relevant industry standards, local regulations, and safety protocols.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of system designs, installation reports, and service logs.
- Submit regulatory and compliance documentation as required.
Client Interaction & Support:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their energy needs and provide technical advice on system capabilities and options.
- Educate clients on system maintenance and performance expectations.
- Provide post-installation customer support and address client concerns or questions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Proven experience in solar energy system installation.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
