Job Title: Public Sector & Partnership Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Identification

  • The Public Sector & Partnership Officer will play a key role in mobilizing resources, establishing and maintaining partnerships, and ensuring alignment with public sector initiatives. The officer will be responsible for driving engagement with key stakeholders, including government bodies, development agencies, and private sector entities to support the organization's programs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop relationships with public sector organizations, international development partners, and private sector entities.
  • Represent AYGF at relevant networking events, conferences, and meetings to promote the organization's mission and goals.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive database of potential partners, donors, and collaborators for resource mobilization.
  • Engage donor partners strategically to mobilize resources for AYGF initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with government ministries, departments, and agencies.
  • Monitor trends in public policy and identify opportunities for collaboration between the organization and public entities.
  • Lead the organization's lobbying efforts by presenting compelling cases for support to the government and other institutional stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing and executing the organization's resource mobilization strategy.
  • Organize meetings and events to facilitate partnerships, including preparing concept notes, proposals, and other relevant documents.
  • Track and analyze funding opportunities within the public sector and align proposals to meet donor requirements.
  • Ensure timely documentation and reporting of all donor and partner interactions.
  • Support advocacy efforts by ensuring effective communication with public sector partners.
  • Draft reports, briefing papers, and position statements to influence public policy in favor of AYGF’s priorities.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, International Relations, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in partnership management, public sector engagement, or resource mobilization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the public sector landscape, particularly within Nigeria and West Africa.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and networking skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to engage with high-level stakeholders, including government officials, donors, and private sector partners.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and manage multiple partnerships simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with donor funding mechanisms and proposal development.
