Job Title: Common Room Area Staff

Reports to: Housekeeping Manager / Guest Services Manager
Job Summary
- The Common Room Area Staff is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and welcoming atmosphere of all shared spaces within the hotel, including lounges, lobbies, and other common areas.
- The role involves ensuring that guests have a comfortable and enjoyable experience in these areas by providing exceptional service, upholding high standards of cleanliness, and assisting with any guest inquiries or needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in all common areas (lobby, lounges, corridors, and other shared spaces).
- Clean and sanitize furniture, floors, windows, and other surfaces as required.
- Arrange and replenish magazines, newspapers, and other reading materials in the lounge area.
- Monitor the condition of furniture and décor, reporting any damage or repairs needed.
- Ensure that the common room is stocked with necessary supplies (e.g., coffee, water, snacks, etc.) and notify the management when restocking is required.
- Assist guests with inquiries or directions within the hotel and its facilities.
- Ensure that lighting, temperature, and ambiance in common areas are set to enhance guest comfort.
- Handle and report lost and found items according to hotel procedures.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments, including housekeeping, front desk, and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
Skills and Qualifications
- SSCE or OND equivalent; additional training in hospitality is a plus.
- Previous experience in housekeeping, guest services, or a similar role in hospitality is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Basic problem-solving skills and the ability to assist guests with diverse needs.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, interacting with guests regularly.
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for long periods.
