WAVE is solving what is arguably the biggest challenge on the continent: youth unemployment. In West Africa, 40-85% of youth, more than 50 million, are either unemployed or underemployed. Meanwhile, job creation in the region is on the rise. The disconnect between work-ready youth and the employment market must be bridged.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Retail Buyer - Women’s Apparel

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

• Select and purchase on-trend womenswear based on data and market trends
• Forecast trends and monitor competitor activity
• Oversee inventory and stock levels
• Analyze sales data to guide future buys
• Collaborate with teams on product launches and merchandising
• Ensure quality control and address supply chain issues
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Experience researching brands for collaborations.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of fashion trends and the womenswear market
• Excellent negotiation and analytical skills
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management software
• 2-4 years of retail buying experience, preferably in womenswear
• Ability to create customer profiles and understand mood boards
