Job Description
- To serve as key legal advisor to the firm on all aspects of the business on major business transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Advises on legal aspects of the firm s financing, including assessing and advising on current and future business structures and legal entities.
- Carries out final reviews of legal advice, drafts and negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements and contracts.
- Counsels the Managing Partner and other senior management with respect to the legal implications of the Firm's major decisions, strategies and transactions.
- Serves as a key advisor to the Managing Partner on issues of Firm governance, risk management, Firm growth, policy implementation, internal and external communications relating to sensitive matters, strategic planning, execution, and special projects
- Ensures the dissemination of information to all relevant departments within the firm of all legal and regulatory compliance issues affecting the firm
Requirements
- Bachelor of Law degree (LLB) with a 2.1 minimum rating
- Law School Certificate, 2.1 minimum rating
- Masters Degree in Law (LLM)
- Minimum of 7 (seven) years experience in a law firm that specializes in both litigation and corporate/commercial law practice
- Experience, in Litigation, mediation and other Alternative means of Dispute Resolution Aged 35 years and above.
