Job Summary
- We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical engineer for truck section for our client.
- The Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Trucks Section is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems for heavy-duty trucks and related components.
- This role involves managing engineering projects, leading a team of engineers and technicians, and ensuring all truck systems, including engines, suspensions, transmissions, and braking systems, meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- The Senior Mechanical Engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve design, production, and quality of truck systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in trucks
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections
- Lead a team of truck mechanics
- Train and mentor technicians
- Develop and implement maintenance programs to improve fleet reliability and reduce downtime
- Collaborate with parts and service teams to ensure efficient repair processes
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and manufacturer updates.
Requirements
- B.Eng / High National Diploma or equivalent required
- Post-secondary training in heavy-duty truck repair or a related field
- ASE Master Technician certification (or equivalent)
- Valid driver's license
- 7+ years of experience as a heavy-duty truck technician
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Experience with fleet maintenance and repair operations .
- Strong technical knowledge of heavy-duty truck systems
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective leadership and communication skills
- Familiarity with diagnostic software and tools
- Manufacturer-specific training programs (e.g. Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Volvo)
- Advanced diagnostic and repair courses
- Leadership and management training
- Safety training and certification (e.g. OSHA)
- Prior experience working as a Senior Mechanic Engineer inSino, Hyundai, and Howo trucks.
