Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer - Trucks Section

Job Summary

  • We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical engineer for truck section for our client.
  • The Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Trucks Section is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems for heavy-duty trucks and related components.
  • This role involves managing engineering projects, leading a team of engineers and technicians, and ensuring all truck systems, including engines, suspensions, transmissions, and braking systems, meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • The Senior Mechanical Engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve design, production, and quality of truck systems.

Job Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in trucks
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections
  • Lead a team of truck mechanics
  • Train and mentor technicians
  • Develop and implement maintenance programs to improve fleet reliability and reduce downtime
  • Collaborate with parts and service teams to ensure efficient repair processes
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and manufacturer updates.

Requirements

  • B.Eng / High National Diploma or equivalent required
  • Post-secondary training in heavy-duty truck repair or a related field
  • ASE Master Technician certification (or equivalent)
  • Valid driver's license
  • 7+ years of experience as a heavy-duty truck technician
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Experience with fleet maintenance and repair operations .
  • Strong technical knowledge of heavy-duty truck systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective leadership and communication skills
  • Familiarity with diagnostic software and tools
  • Manufacturer-specific training programs (e.g. Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Volvo)
  • Advanced diagnostic and repair courses
  • Leadership and management training
  • Safety training and certification (e.g. OSHA)
  • Prior experience working as a Senior Mechanic Engineer inSino, Hyundai, and Howo trucks.
