Job Title: Head, Strategy

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Head of Strategy is a key leadership role responsible for formulating, implementing, and driving the bank's strategic direction.
  • This individual will work closely with the executive team to develop and execute strategic plans that align with the bank's vision and long-term goals. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the banking industry, a proven track record in strategy development and execution, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute the bank's overall strategic plan, encompassing growth strategies, market expansion plans, and product and service development initiatives.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and adjust plans as needed.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the executive team to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Lead and manage the strategy team, providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the bank to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

Financial Analysis and Performance Management:

  • Conduct financial analysis and modeling to evaluate the financial impact of strategic initiatives.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress against strategic objectives.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures to improve efficiency and profitability.

Industry Expertise and Innovation:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and developments, identifying potential opportunities and threats.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, encouraging the development of new products and services.
  • Represent the bank at industry events and conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Accounting or any related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in strategic planning and execution, preferably within the banking industry.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful strategic initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
