We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Moderator

Locations: Kebbi, Niger, Kaduna, Benue, Ebonyi, Cross River, and Delta
Reports to: Lead Consultant (Qualitative)
Period of work: 5 workdays

Background

• The Moderator will facilitate focus group discussions and administer in-dept interviews during the USAID Feed the Future Nigeria Agricultural Extension & Advisory Services Activity annual survey for FY24.
• The project works to increase smallholder farmers’ productivity, incomes, and household nutrition status in Kebbi, Niger, Kaduna, Benue, Ebonyi, Cross-River, and Delta states of Nigeria through strengthening sustainable agricultural extension and advisory services.
• The project particularly focuses on aquaculture, cowpea, maize, rice, and soybean value chains.

Essential Responsibilities

• Participate in training of the data collection team.
• Facilitate FGDs and administer key informants’ interviews.
• Support generation of interview transcript for all interviews administered.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology / Rural Development, Agricultural Economics, Economics, Statistics, or related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working on similar assignments
• Excellent facilitation and interviewing skills.
• Strong interviewing techniques including ability to probe and ask follow-up questions
• Fluency in local language/dialect and respect for ethics.
