The Edo State Migration Agency; formal Edo State Taskforce Against Human Trafficking (ETHAT) is established by the Edo State Migration Law to addressing migration-related issues within the state. With a broader mandate, the Agency is tasked to managing migration, protect human rights, combat trafficking in person, facilitate the reintegration of returning migrants and foster sustainable development through effective migration policies.

The agency collaborates with relevant stakeholders to promote a safe and supportive environment for potential and returning migrants.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Director General

Location: Edo
Employment Type: Contract
Contract type: Performance-based, Renewable
Duration: 4 years, with the possibility of renewal for another 4 years

Responsibilities

  • Operational Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Agency, including resource allocation, staff management, and operational efficiency.
  • Board Secretary: Serve as the Secretary to the Board; facilitate communication and coordination between the Board and the Agency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with relevant state agencies, international organizations and Local organization.
  • Reporting: Regularly report to the Executive Governor, Attorney General and the
  • Board on the Agency’s activities. Perform other tasks as required.
  • Leadership: Provide visionary and strategic direction to the Agency that is in line with State, National and International Migration policies.
  • Policy Execution: Implement and oversee the execution policies and programmes.

Education and Experience (Essential)

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in human rights, human trafficking, humanitarian affairs, migration, diaspora affairs, or peace and conflict studies, and in administration and management or industrial relations.
  • Degree or higher (Social Science, Public Administration, International Relations, Migration Studies, Law, or a related discipline).
