Job Overview

  • We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Operator to work within the woodworking team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce precision wood components.
  • This role requires strong programming skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Experience in woodworking, CNC programming, and understanding of wood materials are key to success in this position.

Key Responsibilities
Machine Setup:

  • Configure CNC machines based on job specifications and design requirements.
  • Load and secure wood materials into CNC machines, ensuring proper alignment.
  • Install and adjust cutting tools, ensuring they are sharp and in optimal condition.

CNC Programming:

  • Program CNC machines according to design blueprints and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with designers and engineers to optimize CNC programs for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Modify and troubleshoot programs as needed to achieve design precision.

Quality Control:

  • Monitor machine operations to ensure production meets quality standards.
  • Inspect finished products to confirm accuracy against technical drawings and specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings or programs to improve quality and resolve discrepancies.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to prevent breakdowns.
  • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and coordinate repairs when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Safety Compliance:

  • Follow all safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Report any safety concerns or hazards to management promptly.
  • Maintain safety standards to ensure a secure working environment for the team.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with the design, production, and engineering teams to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and potential delays to supervisors and team members.
  • Provide input on improving CNC processes and machine efficiency.

Requirements

  • Diploma or technical certification in CNC machining, woodworking, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Operator, particularly in woodworking or cabinetry.
  • Proficient in CNC programming and machine operation.
  • Strong understanding of woodworking processes, materials, and techniques.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and design specifications.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and precision.
  • Knowledge of different wood types and their machining properties.
  • Basic understanding of machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Certification in CNC operations is a plus.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle heavy materials as required.
  • Must be comfortable standing for long periods and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to fine details.
