Job Summary

• Our client, a fast-growing IT services company in Lagos, is looking for a skilled and proactive Application Support Officer to join their dynamic team.
• In this role, you will be responsible for delivering technical support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the seamless operation of software applications.
• The ideal candidate should have a solid technical background, strong problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line support for application-related issues, responding to user inquiries, and troubleshooting incidents in a timely and effective manner.
• Perform routine monitoring and maintenance of software applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Identify additional product and service needs for end-users to enhance their experience.
• Collaborate with the IT and Development teams to resolve complex issues and implement software updates or enhancements.
• Identify recurring technical problems and recommend improvements to enhance system functionality and user experience.
• Assist in the deployment, configuration, and testing of new applications and software updates.
• Document and track support requests, resolutions, and system changes to ensure comprehensive and accurate records.
• Conduct training sessions for end-users to help them utilize software applications effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years in managing software support teams, with expertise in proprietary software.
• Must Have experience in the Fintech sector, especially in Banking, Securities Trading, and Asset Management, is preferred.
• Proficiency in Java and JavaScript, with the ability to write and debug code for troubleshooting as an advantage.
• Strong technical foundation with an understanding of broader business strategies and needs.
• Excellent presentation and technical writing skills for effective cross-functional team collaboration.
• Ability to write SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis.
• Must be familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Exceptional customer service and relationship management abilities.
