Job Summary

  • We are in search of a suitable candidate to take up the role of a HSE Officer in our client's office inPort Harcourt.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with legal requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard identification to minimize workplace hazards.
  • Develop control measures to mitigate potential safety risks.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents to determine root causes.
  • Prepare reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
  • Organize and conduct HSE training programs for staff.
  • Carry out periodic inspections and audits to ensure the workplace meets HSE standards.
  • Maintain HSE records and documentation, including safety statistics, incident reports, and audit findings.
  • Prepare and submit regular HSE performance reports to management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are an advantage.
  • 2-5 years of experience in an HSE role
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
