We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Security Officer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Regularly patrol assigned areas to detect signs of intrusion, ensure security, and prevent breaches.
• Monitor surveillance equipment (CCTV) and alarms to promptly address any unusual activity.
• Regulate access to the premises by verifying identity credentials and controlling the flow of visitors.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for individuals entering secure areas.
• Act quickly in response to fire alarms, medical emergencies, or other threats, following established protocols.
• Assist in evacuations or manage crowd control when necessary.
• Prepare detailed reports on daily activities, security breaches, accidents, or any significant occurrences.
• Report suspicious behavior or incidents to law enforcement or management.
• Ensure adherence to the company’s safety and security policies, and inform staff about any changes or updates.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential risks or hazards.
• Inspect and maintain security systems, ensuring they are functioning properly.
• Report any malfunctions or needs for repair promptly.
• Provide assistance to employees, visitors, or customers with inquiries or directions while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor.

Skills and Qualifications

• A minimum of SSCE/OND or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Security Officer or related position.
• Proficiency in operating security tools/systems and emergency equipment.
• Strong observation and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
