Job Title: Packaging Personnel

Location: Kaduna

Job Summary

• The Packaging Personnel is responsible for preparing products for shipment by packaging them according to company standards and client requirements.
• This role involves operating packaging machinery, assembling boxes, labeling products, and ensuring that packaged goods meet quality standards.
• The Packaging Personnel ensures that all products are correctly packed, safely handled, and ready for distribution.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and prepare packaging materials, such as boxes, or bags.
• Operate packaging machinery and equipment according to safety and operating instructions.
• Label, seal, and box products according to company guidelines and client specifications.
• Inspect and weigh products to ensure they meet quality and quantity standards before packaging.
• Monitor packaging lines to ensure smooth operation and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Perform regular checks to ensure packaging integrity, accuracy of labels, and compliance with safety standards.
• Identify any damaged or defective products and report them to the supervisor.
• Ensure all packaged goods are handled with care to avoid damage during the packaging process.
• Maintain a clean and organized packaging area, following safety and hygiene standards.
• Perform basic maintenance on packaging equipment, such as cleaning and checking for wear and tear.
• Report any machinery malfunctions or safety hazards to the Mechanical Officer immediately.
• Accurately record the quantity of packaged items, including tracking batch numbers and labels.
• Assist in inventory management by tracking the number of packaging materials used and reporting shortages.
• Participate in daily production meetings and provide feedback on packaging processes for continuous improvement
• Work closely with the production and quality assurance teams to meet production targets.
• Assist team members in achieving common goals and meeting deadlines.

Requirements

• OND or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a packaging or manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate packaging machinery and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow packaging guidelines.
• Basic understanding of quality control principles.
• Good physical stamina, with the ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
• Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
